Handbag Chat: Dooney & Bourke

Dooney and Bourke was a brand that I ignored until the past few years.  They had some misses with brightly colored graphic designs that only teenagers were buying.  Then, I noticed their canvas and linen lines.  Since then, I’ve purchased two Dooney and Bourke bags with no regret.

Why?

* Prices are great (both were purchased at outlet prices) for the quality.
* Organization is nice.  Vera Bradley like pocket choice without all of the hectic patterns.
* Chic style.  Their designs are becoming a lot more chic and the bags I have don’t have the name splashed all over them (just a cute little embroidered duck!

Victoria Tote (pictured below):  Mine is also navy, but with brown leather straps.  The leather quality is nice, and I believe will age well.  The nylon is sturdy (and cleans easily – another reason I chose this bag).  Inside there is a middle zippered pocket, one side wall zipper pocket, and several open pockets.  It is lined in a bright pink nylon (almost too bright for my tasted, but then it helps to find things in the bag).

Love this new leather Florentine bag  – would be curious to see it in person.  Interesting (a sign of the financial times) that this bag has a payment plan called Easy Pay.   Louis Vuitton, take note!

Finally, this large satchel, in nylon, seems to fit the bill for a clean looking mom bag (but has enough room for baby stuff, diapers, and can be cleaned off.)
